After the hard slog of winter turbo sessions, in May the Wednesday night bike session moves to our 10mile time trial course in Colney Heath.   Trials run through the summer, every Wednesday night, from ast Weds of May until the first Weds of September.

Light permitting, meet at 7:15 for the first rider going off at 7:30pm...see the forum for exact details

These are unofficial events so be prepared to time yourself.  Just turn up and ride...it's free!

Details below:

We generally meet at 7.15 in Colney Heath, about 600m up Roestock Lane, at the lay-by at the junction with Roestock Gardens , which is the official start point.

If you drive there please find somewhere to park that won't annoy the residents, and remember to keep road junctions & footpaths clear as much as possible.

First rider sets off at 7.30, with following riders off at 30 second intervals – fastest riders going off last.  (Start time changed to 7:15 at start and end of season)

Proceed back towards the roundabout in Colney Heath Village, left at the roundabout onto Tollgate road; Tollgate Rd becomes Dixons Hill Road just before the A1,

Pass over the A1 and up into Welham Green Village;

Make a 360 degree turn at the mini-roundabout in the village; this will be a slow technical turn, so take care particularly with vehicle behind wanting to turn right, and then head back down the road you have just been on.

Follow Dixons Hill Road back towards the A1 and just before the A1 make a left turn onto the Old A1 now known as Swanland Road;

Go the complete length of Swanland Road to the small roundabout just before the Service Area, make a 360 degree turn and return to the junction of Swanland Road and Tollgate Road, and turn left.

Take Tollgate Rd all the way back to the roundabout in Colney Heath, turn right and back towards the start point.

The finish line is the road sign for Hall Gardens on your right, which is the second junction on the right hand side

This should be very close to 10.05 miles.
